Iced Matcha Green Tea

My Coffee Free Challenge is in full swing! If you missed "The Answer to Your Coffee Addiction" blog post, I definitely recommend you have a read.

One thing I am obsessed with right now is matcha green tea! Matcha is loaded with antioxidants, amino acids, and chlorophyll. One cup of matcha is reported to have the nutritional value of up to 10 cups of regular green tea and over 100 times the antioxidants! You can read more information about it here

You can drink it cold or hot, with or without milk; blend it into smoothies or ice cream and even bake it in muffins, pancakes and more! Plus, if you're trying to wean yourself off coffee, matcha is the perfect substitute, leaving you with no painful headaches!

Today, I'm going to share with my favourite way to have it, and that's in a super cold ice tea sweetened with a little coconut sugar!

Iced Matcha Green Tea

Ingredients:

1 1/2 teaspoons matcha green tea (I use the MatchaMatcha brand, make sure you also use an organic matcha tea brand)

1 cup water

1 cup soy milk (or almond milk if you prefer)

2 teaspoons coconut sugar (optional)

1 tray of ice cubes

Method:

In a blender, blend 6 ice cubes, water, soy milk, coconut sugar and matcha green tea until frothy.

Pour into glass jars and add more ice cubes. Enjoy with a straw!
