Ruthlessly eliminate hurry from your life. 🌺 - I’ve been trying to practice what I preach, but it was just one of those Sunday’s where we were extremely late for church. I was rushing our bunch around town, then Beth stops and points out how beautiful these pink flowers were. “Mummy, can I have a photo next to these pink flowers?” I stopped, and the adrenaline rushing through me slowed down. It was inconvenient to some. But we stopped, took that photo she wanted and I even taught her what kind of flower they were. “Beth these are hibiscus flowers. We live on the Hibiscus Coast too. Isn’t that cool? We live in an area named after a flower!” After that I didn’t care that we were late. 🌺

This photo reminds me of the three ways to raise a child. 1. To lead by example. 2. To lead by example and 3. To lead by example 🙌 I have to constantly remind myself that I’m her biggest role model. I raised my voice a little louder than I usually do whilst at the second hand shop today. Aubrey was crying in the carrier, I was carrying too many things in my hands and Beth was trying to try on all the swim suits/ pull clothes off the racks (her version of helping me shop). I apologised realising I am her guiding light and that I don’t need to yell to get myself heard and understood. ‘Our little ones need us to be confident in our ability to lead with kindness. To let them look up and see inspiration, not intimidation’ — @gentleparenting_memes
Dinner at the beach tonight 🙌 We only have 34 days left in our beautiful country, definitely going to miss it 😥 Beth was busting half way through dinner (as usual), so Dan took Beth to the toilets - and when they were gone I sat in silence looking around me at how grateful I am to live in our little beach side town. 🧡
